This Day in Disney History
July 22, 1994: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror officially opens it’s doors at the end of Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
With only one big drop during it’s original run, the Tower of Terror was an almost instant favorite for me… I say almost because I loved it after I got off, and wanted to go on again, but then chickened out right before my second trip into the Twilight Zone and didn’t check in again for about 3 more years (I was only 8 when it first opened, gimme a break lol). When I finally faced my fears, I’m pretty sure the Tower was already in it’s second incarnation and it was instantly a favorite again, no chickening out this time! I’ve loved it ever since and probably always will.
The opening ride was significantly tamer, less like the yo-yo it is now. With an amazing story, Tower of Terror will always be one of my top picks for favorite ride at Walt Disney World!
Experience it for yourself HERE!
Walt Disney Animation Studios | 1937 - 2014
After seeing this post, I decided to make this. The “Experimental” era is usually referred to as Post-Renaissance. I imagine the Revival is going to continue through this decade. 2015 and beyond films listed are: (left to right) Zootopia, Giants, and Moana.
If you want to read more about each era and how they got their names, click here.
